How we use cookies

Cookies are small text files a website places on your device so it can remember things between page loads — for example, that you’ve already dismissed a banner, or that you’re logged in to the tutor dashboard.

On capitallearningcollective.com, we use a small number of cookies for two reasons: keeping the site working, and (with your consent) measuring which pages help families find and book a tutor. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles on your children.

These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to work. We set them without asking, because the site would not function without them.

• CRM / admin session tokens: keep tutors and admins logged in after magic-link authentication.
• Cookie preference: remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we do not ask you again on every visit.
• Stripe: Stripe Checkout sets its own fraud-prevention cookies during payment. These are managed by Stripe directly.

If you click Accept all in the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4). GA4 sets cookies (typically _ga and _ga_<ID>) that let us see:

• How many people visit each page.
• Which search terms and referring sites bring parents to us.
• Which pages people read before booking, so we can improve them.
• General device and country-level information (no precise location).

We enable IP anonymization on GA4, so your full IP address is never stored. GA4 does not receive any student names, session notes, or booking contents.

We run occasional Google Ads campaigns so DC families searching for a math tutor can find us. If you accept cookies, Google Ads may set cookies that:

• Tell Google whether an ad click led to a booking ("conversion tracking") so we can spend our budget on ads that actually help families.
• Prevent the same ad from being shown to you too many times.

If you decline cookies, no advertising cookies are set and we simply do not know whether an ad worked.

Nothing but essential cookies loads until you choose. You can change your mind at any time:

• Re-open the banner using the button below and choose Accept or Decline again.
• Clear cookies for capitallearningcollective.com in your browser settings; the banner will reappear on your next visit.
• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out browser add-on if you want to block GA4 across every site you visit.
